Please find below the story about the sewing box we are entering into the auction

During the war years, Frank Curtis (my grandfather) was commandeered by the Admiralty to build Motor Launches and Landing Craft at his boatyards. I believe he had 3000 men working for him across his eight boatyards in Devon and Cornwall including Curtis and Pape at Looe.
In 1942, they launched ML525. My mother, the M M Curtis (DOB 23/7/1934) referred to on the sewing box, was nearly 8 years old at the time and was asked to officially launch the craft built at the boatyard. The workmen at the boatyard crafted a gift for her in the form of the sewing box and incorporated the remains of the bottle that was used to launch ML525 into the top of the sewing box.
